- In the Aura Phase Bundy would often avoid social interactions when choosing his victim and would have frequent obsessive fantasies as to what he would do with them when he finally captured them.
- In the Trolling Phase Bundy would find a victim that fit his general victim criteria and then prepare for stalking her. These criteria commonly consisted of women that were petite, educated, strangers, trusting, brunette, attractive, Caucasian, middle class, and young (between 12-20 years old).
- In the Wooing Phase Bundy would win the confidence of his victims mostly by either impersonating an authority figure (e.g. police officer) or by using a sling in order to get sympathy and lure them.
- In the Capture Phase Bundy would commonly subdue his victims by hitting them in there heads with a crowbar or by incapacitating them some other way.
- In the Murder Phase for he portion defined as “ritual reenactment of the disastrous experiences of a killer’s childhood” Bundy said that the things he liked to do to women was based of the type of porn he liked to watch as a child. It was graphic and sadistic in the same manner he treated his victims.
- In the Totem Phase Bundy would often take Polaroids of his victims, their clothes, and sometimes their jewelry.
- The Depression Phase would occur after Bundy had finally killed his victim and received sexual gratification. In which there would then be tension of his is incomplete fantasies causing him to seek out his next victim.
